Paretto Builders is an exemplary residential design-build contractor in Grand Junction, Colorado with Dustin Gehrett and Brint Gehrett at the lead. We specialize in taking residential construction projects from planning through to completion by prioritizing the things that matter most for success. We have a proven history of success, an exceptional team operating great systems, and we make strong data-driven decisions for optimal project completions.
Our story of success started in 2003 with Apex Design & Drafting. We grew from a one-man shop selling one-off house plans, to being one of the premier home designers in the Grand Valley with a profitable business that completes over 300 house plans a year. Off the back of that success, we created another project called River Walk Subdivision. This land development project was a 52 lot residential neighborhood in Grand Junction completed in 2024. Our team created the neighborhood layout, managed the engineering and professionals, obtained entitlements and financing, and then supervised the construction of horizontal infrastructure. To further capitalize on the value-add of the River Walk project, we pivoted from selling finished lots to creating Paretto Builders and doing vertical construction in a better way.
Success in construction requires a great operating team from the project managers, down to subcontractors chosen and individual staff members employed and that is exactly what we do. Both Brint and Dustin Gehrett have over 20 years working in management roles and are engaged daily with the projects continuously seeking out problems and solutions and pushing for continuous improvement. In addition to good people, we use great systems including Buildertrend project management software to do scheduling and cost tracking. We create custom tools as well as policies, procedures and methods for doing things the right way to achieve the desired outcome and minimize problems.
Finally, we continue to make strong data driven decisions that have routinely led to success. One example is the way we regularly monitor the cost of building materials, and cut our costs by bulk buying lumber in advance of steep price increases. We have also developed several in-house data tracking tools that allow us to track weekly market changes for the spec houses we produce. This allows us to spot trends and changes in the market, and gives us an edge in making profitable decisions months ahead of our competition. We also track line-by-line costs on each home build and compare it to previous and future builds on an on-going basis. Recent performance is a great indicator of future outcomes. We create tools we need to analyze data specific to our projects and complete them successfully.
